Brick's Foundation
For organisations

Apply for the Brick's Inclusion Excellence Award

For schools, businesses, venues, services and community organisations that want to be recognised for making autistic people, and everyone with a hidden disability, feel welcome.

The Brick's Inclusion Excellence Award is free. Always.

It recognises schools, businesses and organisations that make autistic people, and everyone with a hidden disability, feel welcome, understood and included. There is no fee to apply, to be assessed, to receive the award or badge, or to renew. Inclusion should never depend on budget.

How it works

  1. Choose your sector

Download the questionnaire for your sector below. It is a PDF you can type into and save.

  2. Answer and gather evidence

Answer the questions and collect your evidence, such as policies, training records or photos of adapted spaces.

  3. Submit online

Send your completed questionnaire and evidence with the form at the bottom of this page.

  4. Review

A Brick's volunteer specialist reviews your application and may contact you, for example for a short call or visit.

  5. Feedback and badge

You receive written feedback, whatever the result, and, if successful, your Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum badge, valid for 12 months.

  6. Renew each year

Send updated evidence every year to keep your level, or to move up.

How we assess

Every application is scored on six pillars: leadership, policy and culture; physical and sensory accessibility; staff training and human interaction; autism and hidden disability support; family and caregiver experience; and monitoring and improvement. Each pillar is scored from 0 to 5, so the maximum is 30.

Bronze12 to 17 points, and no pillar at 0
Silver18 to 22 points, and every pillar at 2 or more
Gold23 to 26 points, and every pillar at 3 or more
Platinum27 to 30 points, and every pillar at 4 or more

The Award Framework explains the criteria, the scoring, the evidence we ask for, how to use the badge and how to ask for a review.

Type your answers into the questionnaire for your sector, save it, and attach it here.

3. Evidence

For example: your inclusion policy, autism procedures, training records, photos of adapted spaces, signs or visual guides, feedback you acted on, and who leads inclusion. Small organisations (fewer than 10 staff) may send a short signed statement instead of a formal policy. Please don't include photos of children without consent, and remove names from records.
